Imperial Costume

Aristocratic Imperial Costume

In general, Imperials wear dark, rich jewel tones when they can afford them.  Imperial clothes are move tailored than Achaean or Galacian styles, and unlike Sienovese and Mithraic styles, emphasize the tall, narrow build of the Imperial upper classes.  Their growing middle classes imitate the aristocracy in dress, but are careful not to out-dress their patrons.  The only legally restricted form of dress are the court robes, which may only be worn by Patrician and Equestrian families.  Each house has its own style, and only the Imperial family's robes are sleaved.
  1. Lady's  day costume, suitable for business, day-time social or charitable events, and leisure activities like hunting, boating, and so on.  Except for formal dress, women's clothing in the imperium often plays off of men's styling for jackets and shirts.
  2. Gentleman's day costume suitable for business, day-time social or chairitable events, and leisure activities.
  3. Women's evening dress:  much like Sienovese costume but with higher necklines, more somber colors, and often a narrower silhouette.
  4. Formal court robes.  Worn by both men and women over the highest quality day or evening wear, these robes are always family heirlooms.  They are jewel encrusted and woven with magic.  The style of the robes is ancient and they require much practice to wear.
